April, May and June 2016 were very wet in the East Grinstead area and I got far fewer mole-catching jobs than I usually do at this time of year. If the ground becomes wet and waterlogged the moles will move on to drier ground. Moles can swim very well and will put up with a surprising amount of flooded tunnel, however they do not live permanently in water and if the ground becomes flooded they will move on.
However, I have been busy during the latter half of the year, taking on new jobs in a variety of new places, recently successfully catching moles at a site in Cowfold and I have finished the year with a record breaking 2016.
Roll on the moles for 2017!
